Overview
Automate with ChatGPT is a browser extension designed to help users automate image-generation workflows on ChatGPT. It provides a side panel where users can prepare prompts, add reference images, choose aspect ratios, queue multiple generation tasks, and optionally download generated images.
This extension is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI or ChatGPT.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension handles, where it is stored, and how it is used. The extension is designed to operate locally in your browser and on the ChatGPT website that you choose to use.
No sale of personal data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
No developer-operated backend
The extension does not send your prompts, reference images, queue data, or generated image links to a developer-operated server. The extension communicates with the ChatGPT tab in your browser to perform the automation requested by you.
Data We Process
The extension may process the following information only as needed to provide its features:
- Prompts: text prompts entered by you for image generation.
- Reference images: images you manually upload, paste, or drag into the extension.
- Queue data: queued prompt items, aspect ratios, statuses, and related metadata.
- Generated image information: image URLs returned by the active ChatGPT session, used for preview and download actions.
- User preferences: language, aspect ratio, presets, auto-download settings, prompt history, and library metadata.
Local storage
Most extension data is stored using Chrome extension storage on your device. This may include queue items, preferences, prompt history, presets, reference image assets, and library metadata.
Reference image optimization
Reference images may be resized or compressed locally in your browser before being stored or sent to the active ChatGPT tab. This reduces storage usage and improves reliability.
What we do not intentionally collect
- We do not intentionally collect passwords, payment information, government IDs, or financial information.
- We do not track your browsing across unrelated websites.
- We do not use analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking scripts in the extension.
Chrome Permissions
The extension requests permissions only to provide its core functionality:
- sidePanel: displays the extension interface in Chrome's side panel.
- storage and unlimitedStorage: saves queues, settings, presets, prompt history, and reference assets locally.
- downloads: saves generated images when you choose download or enable auto-download.
- scripting: injects the content script into ChatGPT when needed so the extension can automate your requested generation task.
- tabs and windows: finds or opens the active ChatGPT tab needed for generation.
- https://chatgpt.com/* host permission: allows the extension to operate only on ChatGPT pages.
Third-Party Services
The extension is intended to work with ChatGPT. When you use the extension to submit prompts or reference images, that content is inserted into the ChatGPT website in your browser. Your use of ChatGPT is governed by OpenAI's own terms and privacy policies.
The extension does not control how ChatGPT or OpenAI processes information submitted to their services.
User Control and Data Retention
- You control which prompts and reference images are added to the extension.
- You can remove reference images and clear queue items from the extension interface.
- You can clear extension data through Chrome's extension settings or by removing the extension.
- Data stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, clear browser extension data, or uninstall the extension.
Terms of Service
Acceptable use
You agree to use the extension only for lawful purposes and in compliance with the rules, terms, and policies of Chrome, ChatGPT, OpenAI, and any other services you use with the extension.
User responsibility
You are responsible for the prompts, reference images, and content you submit through the extension. Do not use the extension to create, upload, or distribute content that violates applicable law, third-party rights, or platform policies.
No warranty
The extension is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the extension will always work without interruption, errors, or compatibility issues. ChatGPT's interface may change, which can affect extension behavior.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business opportunities arising from your use of the extension.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms and Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
